Steam's current platform fields list Windows as supported and macOS and Linux as false. Those fields describe the present store listing; they do not establish a permanent platform policy.
The store also lists kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat. That is not evidence for or against future Proton support by itself, so community workarounds are not presented as official compatibility.
